Two New Restaurants Now Open In RDU’s Terminal 1

RDU Airport, NC – Passengers flying through Raleigh-Durham International Airport’s Terminal 1 now have two new dining choices. Starbucks and Red Star Lounge are now open near Gate A24.

The restaurants add dining options for passengers in Terminal 1, which is home to AirTran Airways and Southwest Airlines. Starbucks and Red Star Lounge are operated by Anton-JQ RDU Joint Venture, which oversees the restaurant operations in Terminal 1.

“As Terminal 1 undergoes a major renovation, we knew we needed additional food and beverage options for our passengers,” said Ingrid Hairston, business development officer. “Coffee and casual dining are two very popular requests in airports, and we are excited that Anton-JQ was able to deliver great concepts for us.”

About Starbucks

  • Opens daily when the security checkpoint opens until the last departing flight
  • Offers a full-menu of coffees and blended and specialty beverages
  • Features a larger variety of pre-packaged sandwiches, wraps, salads and pastries

About Red Star Lounge

  • Opens daily at 10 a.m. until the last departing flight
  • Offers a full menu of appetizers, sandwiches and entrees
  • Includes a bar featuring Heineken-branded products alongside a full line of domestic and international beers and spirits
  • Features seating with power outlets

The restaurants will provide additional dining options for passengers as a portion of Terminal 1 undergoes a $68 million modernization project, which is expected to be completed in early 2014.
